Shattered

It happened so suddenly and now everything has changed

One simple slip and now all you can feel is pained

The friends you thought you had have all become estranged

Your relationship which was growing strong is getting very strained

With a touch as cold as ice your clothes were soaked through

A large snap as if dry twigs were breaking and you had to start anew

Pain greater then fires of hell searing right through the whole of you

The bitter taste of regret as your mood turns to a deepest blue

But you are strong and will prevail as time will surely tell

You will heal and with the help of your family all will soon be well

There will come a day when you won't even remember that you fell

Things will go back to normal and you'll no longer have to dwell

The struggles that you are going through you'll wonder why they mattered

You won't even worry about the fact that you may have gotten battered

Life as you know it may have become all torn and tattered

But you should have thought of that before you let your ankle get shattered.
