Gratitude

I never realized how much I have to be grateful for until this pandemic forced me to reflect on everything I have. This second lockdown in Ontario to combat the second wave has me frustrated, depressed and stressed, but every day I find little things to truly show gratitude for.

Firstly I have a roof over my head. Which seems like a simple thing since I worked so hard to balance my budget and pay rent and keep my apartment. However, not everyone has that luxury. Some people scramble each night to find suitable shelter. A warm safe place to spend the night is not something everyone has access to. So I'm so thankful for that.

Secondly I have food to eat, although my cupboards have been getting close to bare. I also have amazing family and friends who have dropped off care packages or free chefs plate coupons to help me get through. Not because they are much better off financially right now, but because they knew I could use the help this month and that I will pay it back three fold when I can. So my belly is full and I have a fantastic support system to show my gratitude for.

Thirdly I'm grateful for my friends and family and my fur baby, because without them my mental health would probably get the better of me this lockdown. To those that have checked in on me, talked with me when I've mentioned I'm feeling down or even just posted a silly meme or two to brighten up my day. I acknowledge how amazing and awesome you are.

Lastly all the different things I can do around the house. I can play games, craft, write, bake and go for walks with Dobby. So it's not like I do not have things to do to keep me busy. I guess what I'm saying is if I focus on the things I do have and put Gratitude out into the Universe for the good things it has given me m

aybe just maybe that positive energy will bring my joy and happiness my way.

You never know and trust me it doesn't hurt to try.
